Second liberal contribution to the University of Ferrara, Department of Humanities, Prof. Rachele Dubbini, for the establishment of a Research Grant with the purpose of selecting and studying archaeological findings from the Park of the Appia Antica kept in the Torlonia Collection, as well as the complete re-examination of all the excavations carried out by the Torlonias in their properties inside the Park itself.

First liberal contribution to the University of Ferrara, Department of Humanities, Prof. Rachele Dubbini, for the establishment of a research grant with the purpose of studying the excavation reports and the artifacts from excavations done in the early 1980s under the overpass on the initial stretch of the ancient Appian Way. The results of the research, conducted by Dr. Mariateresa Curcio, will be the subject of an article to be submitted to the American Journal of Archeology. Autumn 2019.

In collaboration with the “Giuseppe Verdi” Choir of Pavia, in the Cistercian Abbey of Santa Maria di Rivalta in Rivalta Scrivia (Tortona).

Organization of an international conference (to be held in Rome, Albano, Lavinio?) – by Prof. Francesca Romana Berno (Sapienza University, Rome) – with an interdisciplinary approach: classical letters, ancient history, archeology. Provisional title: “Virgil, Aeneid: places, landscapes, peoples”. The conference aims to explore the poetry of the Aeneid with particular attention to historical and archaeological references, in order to illustrate some aspects of the Virgilian reception of Augustan propaganda.

Initiative – accepted and adopted by the Sapienza University of Rome and by the Société Internationale des Amis de Cicéron of Paris – for the organization in Rome of an international conference of Cicero’s biographers. The Association, in addition to giving financial support, has partly overseen the logistical structure of this conference, entitled “Portraying Cicero”.
The greeting address of AIF – a text in Latin prepared by prof. Bruno Zannini Quirini – was addressed to the participants by the high-school students Enrica Benedetti, Beatrice Chiara Castaldo, Claudio Coen, Gaia Esposito.
Publication of the Proceedings of the conference is planned.

In Pavia, in the Sacristy of San Pietro in Ciel d’Oro and in San Salvatore, in the framework of the project “I Monasteri Imperiali”, a conference on the occasion of the official ceremony of redeposition in the Basilica of San Pietro in Ciel d’Oro of the bone remains considered belonging to Liutprando. Among the interventions, presentation of the first discoveries in the preliminary study of these remains (Prof. Gino Fornaciari). A new urn was set up in accordance with modern technical criteria.
